Picked up a set of OEM pipes today. But.....

The ends have been trashed. The piggies are cut to about 3" which is good, that can be reconstructed. But the clown that had them before(not the guy I got them from) drilled not only the baffle behind the piggies, but drilled and tore up the plate the piggies are mounted on. The guy that sold them to me isn't all that aware of what's stock and what isn't. He threw in a few other items, one being a set of nice condition teardrop shaped mirrors which he described as stock. Since they came on the bike when he bought it he figured that's OEM. Oh well....so my next question is this; has anyone cut the end plate off where the piggies are mounted, then removed the section immediately behind it and rewelded that end plate back on? If you recall, behind that end plate are essentially three small glasspack mufflers feeding into the piggies. When the holes were drilled into the mounting plate for the piggies, those mufflers got tore up pretty good. By cutting off the end plate the holes could be repaired but the holes in the baffle behind the piggies aren't accessible. I'd cut out the three mini-glasspacks, repair the holes in the end plate around the piggies, extend the length of the piggies, then weld that end plate back on to the OEM muffler which would now be about six inches shorter.
I don't need or want them for myself, just got them for a reasonable price and trying to figure out how to make them useable for someone else...albeit a bit louder if I do the above. Any suggestions? One way or t'other, they're going to be sold.

Would be a good pair to use or sell to do the glasspack mod.

Hey....you're right, might give him a shout. I have a set of his silencers and they're basically what I need to put these back to OEM configuration.
