I rode over to the ground zero hotel today to talk to the folks at the restaurant there....they are willing to set up a buffet for supper on Friday nite and a buffet breakfast for Saturday morning and other buffet dinner that evening, it's a Christian restaurant and usually closed on Sunday, but she said if enough people wanted breakfast Sunday morning she would see about opening up for us....

They have pretty good food, all home style cooking and the prices are reasonable, I figure the breakfast for Saturday morning is the most important because we are leaving on the ride a 9 am and she is willing to do the buffet from 6 am to 8:30 am that way we can save time and everyone can eat in a short amount of time, the other 2 meals I'd like to get some kind of response from the riders, they are pretty busy Friday nite and sat. and she is willing to do the buffet in a private section of the restaurant so we would all be together....I for one would like to see the buffets and keep everything centralized where we don't have to be running all over town at nite...give me some response and I'll get this squared away with them.....thanks

I also checked with the Econo Lodge next store and they have rooms available for the over flow because the ground zero hotel is full....the rooms are a little more money, couldn't get a discount....$64 + tax for a single and $69 + tax for a double...their phone number is 276-783-6031 ...these 2 hotels share the same parking lot so basically you will still be at ground zero...so if you are interested in making this ride you can still get a room... cooldude

Sounds good to me Don. The food was good when we were there recently. I'd go for the buffett on Sunday morning too.

I enjoyed the hospitality enough at the resturant ,that Debbie and I stopped and ate there on the way to Knoxville this past weekend . My vote goes to give them the business and the food was good both times I ate there

Sat morning and Sat night sounds good, we will probably arrive too late on Fri for dinner.

I can see us eating breakfast on Sunday morning but I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of people opted out for Sun morning.

It looks like somewhere around 40+ folks would like to see the buffets set up, those that did not respond either didn't see the post or do not care one way or the other.. Smiley but based on the response I will tell the restaurant people that I think it would be worth their while to set up the buffets...it would certainly be to our benefit for fast service and the special dining area they offered will keep us together for the social part of the event... cooldude...plus any of us that might partake in liquid refreshments don't have to go hungry because they don't want to ride... cooldude

There is also a all night gas station and convenience store next store to the hotel and if I remember correctly there's a car wash along side of that...we think of everything... Grin
