Your post in the classified couldnt be farther from the truth. My standard has a value that far exceeds 5 grand. My standard has port and polished heads that have been cut down for increased compression which means it will out perform yours. It is also decked out with tourer bags and chrome wheels and is extremely well taken care of.So maybe your Valk might only be worth 5 grand, dont tell the rest of us what our bikes are worth, people like you just add to lower prices

$5,000.00 would'nt touch any of my bikes and $7,300.00 damn sure would not touch my Interstate.

Totally agree with you both above, but like Tank am tired of the stock standards getting listed by people with 1 to 3 posts for $9,000 or something equally ridiculous  angel

I have to agree as well. I recently sold my restoration for $6950 which was posted on Craig's List. It was a Tourer which the prior owner had pretty much trashed and I brought back to life with a major amount of TLC. Granted, it was sold off CL but all it took was a ten minute ride by someone familiar with Valkyries to shell out cash on the kitchen table. The price wasn't questioned, and it sold in less than a week after listing it. I constantly check CL in other locations throughout the country and I simply wasn't out of line. Actually, many are priced higher than mine, so who's to say?

I see standards on the west cost all day long on CL with 90K on them for over 5 grand. As for my interstate it is a nothing special interstate, but you will not even get a test ride with out at least 8grand on the table.

Sad thing is i would sell an 05 ram quad cab in perfect condition for less money than my interstate.

Since the ad violates the intent of the Classifieds section, admin should remove it and place it where it belongs in the general section.  Perhaps the OP wanted to have a soap box where no one could respond to his "theory."

How's that for an opinion?

There are a half dozen valkyries listed on cycle trader.com right now that are 5k or less.  A whole lot more than that are higher.  Hoser

In fairness, I didn't see the post.  It was gone before I heard about it, but I may have had some agreement with what it might have said.

I am troubled to see showing up in our Classifieds section ads from people who only joined the message board in order to place an over priced ad to sell their Valkyrie.  In my opinion, these people are simply attempting to prey upon our membership.  I also feel the same way about our own members publicizing over priced Craigslist ads.  If you see a listing on Craigslist that's a good deal, by all means share it, but why set your friends up to be victimized?

My advice to people looking to buy from the Classifieds is pay close attention to the profile of the seller.  If the seller joined just prior to posting the ad, I'd be cautious.

It would take a lot more than people are getting to buy one of my old used up Valkyries, but then I'm not trying to sell.

Okay, I'm finished with my rant.   Smiley
