I doubt most of you DFOB's will know who this is but the Beastie Boys were a big deal to my generation. http://www.cnn.com/2012/05/04/showbiz/beastie-boys-death/index.html?hpt=hp_t1

Boxer rebellion, the Holy Child. They all pay their rent. But none together can testify to the rhythm of a road well bent. Saddles and zip codes, passports and gates, the Jones' keep. In August the water is trickling, in April it's furious deep.

grew up with beastie boys in the 80's and only 2 songs I remember is 'gotta fight for your right to party' and 'no sleep till brooklyn'. Personally, they were not that great of a group in the 80's as compared to say bon jovi or def leppard among several dozen others, but to each their own I guess. Regardless of how good or bad beastie boys were, sad to see anyone go at such a young age. RIP.

Dust-Farting Old Bastards And I say that with love. That's a riot. One of my co workers really hates "old guy farts" as he calls em. DFOB, guess sometimes we can learn something from the FNGs.

Well back when License to Ill came out (their breakthrough record) I didn't care for them at all. I was a metalhead and I poo=pooed anything other than heavy metal. It wasn't until later that I started to dig the Beasties.

I had the pleasure of seeing the Beasty Boys back in the day at Lalaploosa in New Orleans. Quite an audience participation show. RIP Adam Yauch.
