youtube, what a weird wondrous place  I gotta say I've got an orange tree out back and I'm dying to try this.... starting a fire with a mountain dew?  steel wool I've heard of but say what??

I have to cry "foul"! He didn't follow his own instructions (getting all the juice out), the camera left the orange several times for several seconds for no reason (someone could have dumped lighter fluid or something in it) and when the camera goes back to the orange it's already flaming. Someone besides the cameraman is in the room because they turn the lights off. Not saying you can't build a fire with a rock, stick, and orange....but to me this doesn't qualify as proof. YMMV.  |

YMMV. i'd agree with you bob. i'd chalk this one up with the video's of a guy unlocking his car with a cell phone and someone 100 miles away using the keyfob, or the one with a tenis ball hitting the lock to unlock it, or the one with 4 cell phones and a popcorn kernel in the middle (when the four cell phones ring the kernel pops!) next thing you know he'll pull off his mask and you'll see he's really an alien, or bigfoot, or obama..... |

yeah, i wonder how many dumbies even though of giving it a try...... you know it's a fake by the fact that anyone who has EVER tried to start a fire with rubbing a stick on a rock knows it won't happen in ten seconds like it does in the video...... |

i put the stick on a drill after i drilled a spot on the rock so the stick would stay on it,, no fire,, so i just got out the lighter,,much eaiser...

Wish I had known this sooner. Last time I was lost in the deep dark woods, all I had with me was, you guessed it, an orange. I nearly froze to death and to think I could have built a raging fire with it to keep warm and signal passing satellites. All I did was eat it and used my lighter to build the fire.  |
