Just started noticing that after a while of going down the road the acts like it is running out of gas. I flip the valve to reserve and back and the bike picks back up and runs good again. Does it when it gets hot. I had a spare petcock kit and installed it went riding yesterday and it happened again. I havent looked at the vaccum line but it was replaced a couple of years ago. Could someone give me some pointers or give me directions to making the petcock manual or the link for the pingle replacement.

Have you done anything else in that area such as install a quick disconnect or new fuel line, etc.?  Check a couple things; the vent line coming off the back end of the tank underneath....see if it's possibly kinked or pinched. See if your fuel line is running "downhill" all the way from the petcock to the "T"...fuel can't run uphill.

Just a starting place.

Next time it acts up have a spare key and open the filler cap. The vent line can be pinched. you will hear a noise as the seal is broken with the opening cap.

not the vent line had the tank off and back on still the same problem but I will check that. I did install the quick disconnect over a year ago and have had no problem until now. Fuel has to run in a loop to get around that thing. any way it's gravity all the fuel is above the line it is all down hill from the tank anyway. none of these explain why it will rund fine it swapped to reserve and back to on or why it does not do it in cool weather.

Don't know if this has anything to do with it, but gasoline expands in hot weather and slows down the flow, also causes gas to seep out of a freshly filled tank if it was topped off too much.  It used to be called "vapor lock".    Hoser    ???

REDTIM, you said that you rebuilt the petcock, did you replace the screen in the tank?  a starvation problem that temporarily improves when you switch to reserve then back could be a clogged screen. If it's clogged, a good tank cleaning is in order.
The screens have to be ordered separately

I had one of the quick disconnects on mine for a while, had the same problem several times, I think heat build up would make it fail. Took it off and threw it away, have not had any problems since.

Put a quick disconnect on my IS with the sidecar.  Had to get it hauled 60 miles back to LaCrosse, WI two years ago.  Honda was closed, Sunday, so I took the seat off, and removed the quick disconnect.  It has not bothered since.

In fairness, it may not be the quick disconnect itself.  It can be caused by a little extra length in the fuel line.  Usually when someone pulls his quick disconnect he also straightens out the fuel line.  A droop in the fuel line will increase when it heats up under there.

I had a similar problem and my turned out to be rotted vacuum lines.  I replaced all my vacuum lines and it fixed the problem.  Not just the line going to the tank either but ALL lines.  The problem lines in my case went to the PAIR lines.  I might install a kit like this to prevent any future trouble. https://sites.google.com/site/valkparts/
