While leaving Moms after paying her a visit earlier this week in a residential neighborhood,  I came upon a Cable TV Repairman that had his truck parked directly across the street opposite from the pole he was working on, taking up half a traffic lane (on a 2 lane residential street)..... and of course it had the red/orange cone on the ground just outside the trunk line (further into the traffic lane).  However, he was on his ladder directly opposite the truck, which was sticking out halfway into the other traffic lane as well, and didn't even have a  red/orange cone at the base of the ladder.    Basically it limited traffic to half of each lane in the center.

I felt compelled to pull ahead of his ladder and stop.  I got out and looked up at him and asked "How long have you been doing this kind of work?"  He replied "35 years, why do you ask?"  I said "I'm surprised you have survived this long blocking half of both traffic lanes and leaving your ladder hang out in traffic without any protection or flag man".  He climbed down the ladder, said "yea I guess you are right" and moved the red/orange cone to the base of the ladder and started back up the ladder.  As I was getting back into my truck to leave, I yelled up at him one more time.... "I think moving the truck over to block the ladder would provide more protection for the ladder and you..... but what do I know.  Good luck."

Yesterday  I'm driving the big yellow bus on a busy 2 lane. There's a cleared lot being developed on my left.

There's a couple of guys with a big post hole digger with extremely long handles digging a hole right at the kerb side on my left.

A dually pickup is approaching the bus and the workers.

They have one of the handles vertical the other at an angle causing it to obtrude into the traffic lane of the pickup. He starts drifting across the center lien to miss the handle which causes me to brake and get close to my kerb.

Pickup misses handle, worker and bus.
