Been to Ireland and back

  My wife and I had the pleasure to travel to Ireland and contacted two VRCC members. Sadly, time conflicts did not alloy us to hook up with Irishvalker. We did get to talk him tho.  We did share a pint with Gerald in Dublin. We had a good conversation and I will post the blackmail pictures when I learn how.
  I have never rode the tail of the dragon, so I am not able to compare to the roads in Ireland. I will tell you tho they will give you a run for your money. If anyone gets the chance to go, mount a video camera and you wll have a ride like you will not believe. On our next trip ( yes, we are going back )we will have a video camera . The people are very friendly and helpful. Food is great. Get off the main roads as they are nothing compared to the back roads. We met  a couple bikers with a 1928 Triumph and a 1932 BSA. I have pictures , and a rider with a Blue Rune.  The sky road and west and south Ireland was where we spent most of our time. We put almost 1100 miles on our rental car. COOL! That is the trip that my wife and I have been dreaming of for several years now! Hoping to make it in the next couple years! Can't wait to see the pics!

Just to confirm....  Da-Prez was over here in Ireland at the beginning of April and by the sounds of it he and his wife enjoyed themselves. Unfortunatly, unexpected last minute vistors prevented me from hooking with Da-Prez when he was staying neer Dublin. (dont think we didn't notice , it was a bit sneaky of you taking the sunshine home with you.  Hasn't stopped raining since you left).

Anyone thinking of travelling to Irelend should consider coming in 2013. The Government here are planning an big iniative to encourage visitors in 2013 calling it 'The Gathering', particularly anyone with Irish links or roots. Took a spin over to Galway and Connemara last weekend to see if Da-Prez left everything intact. Seems he was behaving himself, everything was still there & fine. Turned out there was a Harley club staying at the same hotel so that gave rise to a bit o banter, good fun..

Great to hear you're planning a return visit. Can't let you go next time without hooking up..  Don't forget to put up some pictures..
