Okay, stupid question, but here goes--why is there a hole on the bottom (the end) of one fork, and not the other?  I want to attach a chrome piece to the ends of the forks, and found the hole on the one side, and started working on attachment method, then discovered that there wasn't a hole on the other side.  Any thoughts on drilling a hole in the bottom of the other fork???

The hole is for access to an allen head bolt that bolts the damper to the bottom of the fork inside. It uses a crush washer to seal off the fork so it doesn't leak fork oil. The left fork doesn't have the damper inside so no hole is necessary.
