This is kinda neat, just pick the make and then the year in the next screen. I was disappointed because they didn't have my first car....1948 Dodge, only trucks. They had most of the rest I've owned since; '49 Olds Futuramic 98, my baby blue '50 Merc, '53 Olds 98...and so on. Check it out. http://www.lov2xlr8.no/broch1.html

Hey that's awesome!
I looked mine up and the 1978 Mustang II is alot more impressive in the ads than it was in person. But I loved the car. So much so that I bought another. First was a Ghia coupe with a 2.8 V-6 and the second was a Cobra that I built up. I made a great engine and that equaled a 13 second piece of crap. So much fun it cost me my liscense!

Great! My 1960 Plymouth Valiant in the ad still looks as butt ugly as it did when I had it. Still, it was a car and chicks like even butt ugly cars.

My first car was a 1929 Chevy. I didn't bother to look it up, I don't even want to think about it. However, my first REAL car was a 1949 Olds 88 Rocket. It was ahead of its time. Overhead valve V8, 303 ci,, 135 hp, and high low end torque. Coupled with a 4 speed hydramatic it would take on about any stock production car including the Chyrsler hemis. The Chyrslers were hampered by a POS auto tranny. I thought I was King until I tangled with a 1956 Chevy with a Corvette engine. The Chevy won. The 88 was originally black but since I worked in a body shop part time, it was repainted in this Kelly green, six coats of hand rubbed lacquer, I know, I did the work.

If you still had that sled Mike you could carry the Mini Cooper around in the trunk [/quote] I remember being a neophyte driver and driving it across this bridge at night... seemed like there was about 2 extra inches on each side... The blue car in the bridge picture is a Buick Special, my father painted a blue racing stripe on it and gave it to my sister when she was in high school... -Mike

My first car was a '59 Chevy Biscayne. Paid $35 for it. The rust had eaten up the entire floor. So when you got into the car you still would "stand" on the pavement! I fixed the whole thing with a 1" Plywood panel. I do not miss that piece of junk. Sold for $125! Here is my current ride:https://picasaweb.google.com/103917731019176896112/BRONCOTOY?authkey=Gv1sRgCOXVwcj24o7PvAEI do have all the original brochures, Owner's manual, Shop manuals, etc... for this one.

It was the bridge to where Patriots Point is now back in 1960 or so... they built the Silas Pearman bridge next to it in 1966... more recently they built the Ravenel bridge, and blew up the other two to get rid of them... -Mike

My 1st car wasn't in there. 1925 Model 'T' runabout. 2. 37 Chev Stove bolt, no trunk, spare tire mounted there. 3. 31 Model 'A' 4 door. Had to backup the hills in San Francisco. 4. 39 Plymouth Business man's coupe. 5. 40 Ford - La Salle Transmission buttoned to the back of a Packard. 6. 31 Model "A' Coupe, with a Lincoln V-12, drove it from the back seat. 7. 41 Cadillac Convertible 8. 49 Ford 2 Door 9. 50 Merc 2 Door w/Ford 413 Cu in. Hopped p to the hilt. 10. 55 Chev Corvette 11. 57 Chev Corvette Fuelie 12 59 Chev Impala 4 dr Hardtop w/348 & 3 deuces 13 58 Olds J2 ( 3 deuces ) 14. 59 Roadrunner w/ 426 Hemi and dual staggered Quads. 15. ?? Barracuda 6 pak I want to say this one was a 60, but not sure. 16. 61 Chrysler Newport w/ 426 Hemi.
After these I started getting old fuddy duddy cars.
25. 2012 Dakota Quad cab w/worked over 4.7 Mercedes. Cold Air system, mild cam, ported and relieved heads, posi. Still gives 19.5 on the open road. About 15 in town. But, it still will burn E85. Don't know about your area, but here it is a dollar less than regular.

There wasn't a 60's Barracuda 6 pak. The only way you could get one back in the day was on the AAR Cuda that came out in 1970 or the big block 440 6 pak. Both high dollar cars for sure now. I have a first year 1964 Barracuda and top option was a 273 4bbl. The 340 engine was available first in 67. The big blocks were available in the 2nd generation A body Cudas but not the 6 pak. The 3rd generation of Cudas known as E bodies were the first installed with 6 pak engines and the 426 Hemi.

I go to Charleston quite often, and have driven across them. The old Cooper River Bridge, was scary on a windy day. And if you were on it the same time as a big truck, man, you could feel it rocking!

I always liked the Cougar Eliminator and back then they were rare. I had a 69 Mustang Cobra with a 428 that was rare. It was the same body style as the Mach 1 but no markings except for the cobra emblem on the back. I can't find one on the internet. When I bought it in 72 they said it was a limited production.

Yeah, I have to show this to my dad. He would dig the hell out of it.
One of his cars was a late 60s Plymouth GTX with a 440 6pack. He sold that car after I was born for a dandy green on green on green Ford Torino station wagon. Ewwww.
Did I mention he gets teary eyed and sad when he watches the Mecum auctions? Like alot of you fellows, I'm sure he literally had hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of cars pass through his hands...but back then they were just that....cars.

I'm currently driving my 4th car in my life... And of the 4, only 1 is in there, and it was by FAR my least favorite (And my first) - 1976 Dodge Dart...
After that I had a 1988 Toyota MR2, 1993 Toyota MR2 Turbo, and my current car, the rarest Nissan Altima they make - the 2008 270 HP V6 with the 6 speed manual...
