What is the sensor called that shuts down the bike when it leans too far over, and, in what "system" or area of the bike should I search the partsfische under?

Thanks

I think it's called a 'bank angle sensor,' but I have no idea in which area of the parts fiche to look.

For those who don't know it's location on the bike.

it's screwed to the back of the center cover, that's the cover that you put your key into to release the seat.   T.P.

Thank you so much for that bit of info Jeff, and TP.

The bike broke down on me last sunday and it's been sitting at a suzuki/kawi dealer since then.  That's where it was towed.  The closest Honda dealer was way too far.  Anyway, I recently added higher handlebars and did a lot of other stuff and in the process, I removed the side and center covers.  As the lock on my center cover has been broken I never even bothered to look behind the center cover.

She stalled twice on me.  The first time I was pulling out of a parking lot, crossing 3 lanes to go left and it was a sharp incline to the crest of the road and she stalled.  I hit the starter, nothing.  Turned off the key, shifted into a different gear and she started.  Then, about 40 miles later, going uphill on the goat trail, she stalled out and no matter what I did, nothing.

Was with Oss and one of his guesses was that sensor.  Had I known it was on the back of the center cover, I might not have needed that tow.

I think Oss has guessed well.  The cycling of the ignition switch resets the bank angle sensor.

Occasionally they pop up on pinwall if you're not entirely sure that thats the issue. Used parts are cheaper when you're shooting in the dark.

Unfortunately, I didn't know that it was the sensor causing my problems, like I said, I didn't even know it was there (I knew there was one, I just didn't know where it was, or that it would/could fail).  It was the service dept at the dealer who discovered the problem.

You see, I had added higher handlebars, adding new throttle and choke cables, front brake and clutch hoses, and I went inside the headlight bucket to see how much wire I could squeeze out of the harness so I wouldn't have to splice in 2 inch pieces of wires, 26 times.  So, I unravelled and unsheathed enough wire to make up the 2 inches, thank goodness.  But, it was a bit tight.  Anyway, I thought I caused some kind of electrical problem or maybe cut too much insulation off of a wire that I didn't notice, or something else that I may have screwed up.  Well, I guess I did screw something up by not knowing that the sensor was behind the center cover when I removed it.
