I decided in January to sell the old wing (and a few other toys) and start looking for my dream bike, a Valkyrie. I searched the internet religiously, Craigs list, Ebay, Oodle, and the two Valkyrie boards. I had a spred sheet set up with all the selling prices, asking prices, model, year, & mileage. To make a long story short, I was starting to think that I would not get a Valk this year because my wing was not selling, and it seemed that the prices of the Valkyrie’s went up considerably as soon as the weather broke here in Wisconsin. They were selling at decent prices down south, and out west, but here they were much higher than only a few months ago. Well last Saturday a nice young guy showed up at my house and bought the 77 Wing, and with that sale I had reached my goal for a Valkyrie. I went in the house and checked the computer and GUESS WHAT? There was a new Valk listed on Craigs list, Only 30 miles away, and it only had 7,800 miles, new tires, and most everything was original, (what I wanted) Best of all, the price was in the range that I had hoped to spend. Needless to say an appointment was made to check it out, I spent about an hour talking with a man who had obviously cared a great deal for his bike. I was actually a little sad knowing that he had to sell his pride and joy because of a bad back. We agreed upon the price even before I test rode it, because I knew that it would be just fine. All I can say is that I have had 9 bikes since I started riding in 1970, (including 4 Wings) but at 56 years old, I am a kid again, and I think I just bought my last bike. JimC

Looks like an upgraded front seat, plus a backrest, after a couple of 200 mile rides you'll know if you need some highway pegs for comfort... looking good!

Nice looking Valk. Same color as my Tourer You already have the backrest so all you need is a good set of Kury highway pegs and you can ride all day in comfort. Good luck with the new bike!

Nice bike. I have an extra chrome backrest insert I would be willing to send you if you want it. No charge. Just a gift welcoming you to the greatest ride I have ever had...even if it was only for a few minutes.

Thanks everyone, I have been reading the Valkyrie boards for months in anticipation of finding the right bike. I sense a great brotherhood both on here and the other Valk board.
My biggest issue is that I sell real estate and most of my weekends during the summer are tied up working, but I can get around that by riding during the week.
Blackdog, Give me a PM, we are neighbors, I'm in Oconomowoc

Looks like one of those super fast 1997 models. I'm buying a few extra to keep my current model company. The last bike I'll ever own. Nothing compares to the valk.
