Northern New Mexico

« on: May 14, 2012, 03:44:23 PM »

I just rolled in late Saturday from another trip out to LV, NV for my daughters 29th b-day.

This shot taken along hwy 93 just south of Hoover Dam. Always a nice sight and knowing I've only got about an hour to my daughter Des's place.

Made my daughter her favorite: Phillie Dutch Apple Crumb Pie

Brought along my portable rod and got some fishing in with my son-in-law on Lake Mead. It was a bit windy but that didn't stop us from catching our fair share. I got 3 stripers and a cat, son-in-law got 5 stripers and a cat.

Grandkids Jake and Emma

I then made my way back out to visit my folks in San Clemente, CA. Dad turned 85 and as you can see was all decked out for Cinco de Mayo.

My daughter drove out from Las Vegas with her family for the surprise bday event for her grandpa. We took the kids to a local park to check out the wildlife and work off some of their energy.

Nick entertained the group...

Got to stay with my son Nick for a couple weeks out there and we did some cruising with him on his 1100 Shadow. Took a ride out to Laguna and surrounding areas to do some hiking, lunching, etc.

These taken along PCH just south of Laguna.

I made my way back through Arizona, coming up the Devils Highway. This shot taken at an unscheduled stop under a bridge along I-10 to beat the AZ heat. Most of the Rest Stops are Closed.  Undecided Thank goodness it was a dry heat, otherwise it would have been FREAK'N HOT!  Evil

Devils Hwy

This was taken in the Malpais Wilderness area along hwy 117 in New Mexico. La Ventana Natural Arch.

That's about it, 19 Days, 2,091 miles round trip.

Another great ride, hope you enjoy the photo's.

Great ride report, thanks for posting.

The PCH remains one of my all time favorites. California is so beautiful in spots, a shame what's happening there, budgetarily  and politically.
