All depends on how bad you want it-running or not. That be a piece of Brit motorcycle history. I had the pleasure of riding a 64 or 65 triumph vertical twin. Just got goose bumps thiking about it. coolsmiley Maybe some one older(come on there are a few)than me has a better answer. 2funny RIDE SAFE.

I'm a little confused.  I thought a "Daytona"  was a crouch rocket produced in the the last 10 or so years?

The Daytona was a 500 cc 360 degree firing vertical twin named after a win at Daytona.  It supposedly had 39 hp.  Drum brakes of course.

Depending on its condition it could be a real find or a money hog. Yes, it's vintage history bike and it would be neat to own one but I wouldn't buy it when one can buy a new Bonneville 900cc 360 degree firing vertical twin complete with fuel injection, disc brakes, peashooter mufflers, spoked wheels, gaitors and a decent electrical system.

I've seen the new Bonneys and they are every bit as nice looking as the old Triumphs but more dependable and better in every way. Prices are about $8600.00.  You could easily put that kind of money in an old Daytona to restore it and you still would have 1960 technology.

I would really like to have a new Bonny but I've got the Vstrom and can't put any more dough in a new bike.

Lucas gets a bad rap, but they were responsible for many innovations - strobe lights, intermittent wipers, warm beer...
bwahahaha.

I think it's worth it, especially running and reconditioned. But go to Walnecks website or catalog and look around. Antique and classic bike specialists.  Hoser
