About 300 mile round trip. We are staying at an RV park in Hillsville Va.  An owl almost ran into us, but other than that uneventful as far as the ride. 52 degrees here now at 945 pm. Been really nice temperatures, just several days of rain.
I am going to try to attach a link to some pictures. I didn't know that the house that the surrender was signed in was taken apart and prepared for shipment up North, but never got shipped, and was reassembled on site.
The first picture is the newer Appomattox courthouse downtown.

I have visited there several times.  I have family living in Lynchburg, VA which is about 30 minutes from Appomattox.  Lots of history to absorb.
