Well today I am flushing the pipes.  They are sending cameras in from both ends tomorrow to look for potential problems.  They already know about the ulcer but it has been 3 years since thay looked at it thru a scope.  They already know about the diverticulosis.  I have had that for over 16 years but never had a problem with it until this last year.  Three bouts of diverticulitis had me saying enough!  OK, maybe I need to change my diet now.

After the 3rd round of diverticulitis, I started thinking about the good idea of getting things scoped again.  I remember getting a notice from my gastro doc almost 2 years ago that we should do the scopes again but I had been putting it off.  Of course I had all the standard excuses; "too busy", "it'll be alright anyway" and "the proceedure ain't bad but the prep ain't fun".  But then I read Pat's plea to the group and soon after read of his passing.  OK.  That was a shot over the bow!  So after some other medical stuff, both the upper scope and a colonoscopy are on tomorrow.

RIP Pat.  Though I never knew you.

My daughter is going today, my wife on the 30th, and me soon after.

RIP, Pat

That's what I told my wife, said they were trying to cut back on expenses so use the same utensil. I suggested she insist on doing the upper end first. The nurse kicked me out of the prep room for some reason.  angel

LOL  The last time I had the scopes, the nurse told me she had heard that "same scope both ends" joke a few too many times already and did not want to hear it again.

just got the probe on Monday....drinking the gallon of prep solution is absolutely the worst part.

Thank goodness it's only once every 5 years (so far).

I have no idea what a colonoscopy or endoscopy is like, They sprayed the gag reflex med in my mouth and I woke up in another room, apparently my intestines looked like a cheese pizza, (diverticulosis and some other big words) were discussed. been on 2000 mg sulfazine and prilosec ever since. glad I had it done, could have gotten a lot worse.  Be not afraid! If you haven't had one, Do it!!   Cheesy

The doc told me it looked as clean as the tunnel of love.  I told him I didn't swing that way. My wife blew coffee out of her nose.  Made the whole thing worth it.  Hoser   Grin
