from the slot it is now in to the empty slot on the "wire loom replacement kit" that is used to repair the melted connector on the starter selinod.  You know what I mean if you have replaced this in the past.

I have been poking inside the connector for 1/2 and hour and can't get the RED wire connector to let go from the plug so I can put it in the empty slot.

TIA

Have not pulled a wire froma Honda plug but imagine they are the same as any other.
If you have a close look into the plug you should see a small groove on one side, you need to push a thin wire/needle into the groove and release the locking tab on the side of the actual wire terminal.
The tab just folds back into the terminal and the wire pulls out the rear of the plug. You may have to lift the tab back up a bit before re-installing so it locks into the plug housing.

No  good pictures to help you, if you need them after I describe it I can take some.

You need to go from the front of the connector -the side where there wires aren't.  You will need a very thin screwdriver or shim or the proper tool shown below.

Take the screwdriver/tool and place it between the flat portion of the connector and the plastic housing.  You are trying to push down a tap this is sticking up on the connector. Once the tap is pushed down, keep the tool in place and pull the wire out the back .

Once the wire is out, lift the little tab back up and insert the wire into the new slot.

if it isn't already clear to help confuse the situation  ... if you look inside the open side of the connector you will see there is a small tab that has been pushed out - similar to a barbb on a fish book - you have to make it so the barb  doesn't catch

Got it ---- had to grind down an old screwdriver to fit that groove.  Worked like a charm.

Tomorrow - cut the temporary spade connectors off, solder the new plug on, and bottom it up.

Thanks guys

True enough, should have said a tool.  Any tool that works is the proper one Cheesy

That is a terminal tool for GM.

I carry a screwdriver in my breast pocket at the shop.

One of tose real narrow jobber dos.

Push it into the plastic on the same side as the locking tab.

Push it in until the tab unlocks and then pull it out.

Reinsert into the hole ya want.
