I am looking for a good bluetooth unit to use while on the bike. Any opinions on what to or not to buy would be appreciated.

We use Blue Ant and really love it.  I stopped using the on board intercom of the Interstate because we can use the Blue Ant on any of our rides.  We rented a new SoftTail while on vacation earlier this spring and we had an interphone just like on one of our own motors.
It also lets us communicate when I am gassing up and Karen goes in to pay.
We get some strange looks, but then again that's normal for us. crazy2
Well NUTS! I just looked on the Blue Ant website to find you a link to the product and it was not there.  I called the tech support and was told the product was discontinued. All they make now is cell phone ear pieces.  tickedoff

I just ordered a 2 pack of Sena SMH-10. Should be here tomorrow and we will try them out this weekend. I can comment after our ride.

I chose this unit based on the reviews and price. They make a slightly cheaper unit also that you can get for around $100 per unit.

Ride Safe, Be Kind

IMHO, one of the best things about riding a motorcycle is knowing that I'm temporarily free from my phone.  It's like the old days.  When you weren't home...you weren't available and the world kept turning.  As far as an intercom...Rebecca and I tried a few and I decided that I'd rather concentrate on the ride and talk to her at stops.  We do have a "tap me three times on the shoulder if you want me to stop" setup that works pretty well.

I know that I'm not answering your question, but I hate the idea of a fellow rider crashing due to being distracted (especially with precious cargo on board).

Ride safe,

Scott.

I use a Scala unit... it is the bomb...not sure talking or listening to a radio will distract you unless you stand up and start dancing on hyour bike!!! cooldude
