I know the appropriate oil for the Valk, the bottom of the circle should be blank. I noticed something different today when cruising the oil aisle. Thought the insignia on the reverse side used to say "Energy Conserving" in the lower portion. The ones I looked at today say "Resource Conserving". Is that reference/meaning one in the same? Curious what the latest and greatest is.

I think that means that it contains recycled oil.

I don't recall seeing anything on the various label brands stating anything about recycled oil content. All the major brands -- in that location, some were blank while all others said "Resource . . . ".

From the API site:
3. RESOURCE CONSERVING or ENERGY CONSERVING
These designations apply to oils intended for gasoline-engine cars,
vans, and light trucks. Widespread use of “Resource Conserving”
or “Energy Conserving” oils may result in an overall savings of fuel
in the vehicle fleet as a whole

I would not advise using this is a wet clutch such as the valkyrie. YMMV, not a professional engineer, and I haven't stayed at a holiday inn express lately.

Okay, thanks. I know we don't use the energy or resource conserving labeled oil in our bikes. I simply had not seen the term "resource" conserving before.  Appears that energy conserving and resource conserving are one in the same.  A new one on me. Now I know the rest of the story.  sheets
