99 Interstate -
I had progressive front springs installed 1 year ago. ( LOVE THEM ) I am leaking front oil again ( 2wice now ) since the original change.  The first time - the forks leaked immediately and within a month I had the shop redo the repair up in WI.

I have since moved to TN and I am leaking again.  Couple of questions -

Whats the official word on the oil level / amount needed when running the progressive springs?
Do i need the special tool if I decide to try this myself?  Do i need any special tools?
Is anyone around in the TN Thompsons Station / Spring Hill area familiar with changing the seals?

Thanks up front !

I have 10,000 on front progressives.  I filled to shop manual level, but I understand some use a little less oil. No problems.
Fill with forks FULLY compressed.
I would guess you have a little tiny imperfection on your slider, and it slowly eats up the seal.  Need to smooth that off.

try 2o/z less then the minimal amount i did it that way and so far no leak. i used to fill to the max amount but always came back and leak a yr or so later.   just put less in there the next time. i think there's more to the progressive springs. so a little less won't hurt a thing

Same here. Installed Progressives last July, then in Feb over compressed the forks when trailering and caused a major leak on the right side (my fault). Replaced the seals and refilled with 1 oz less (like last July), and 1 month later it's leaking again  Angry . I saw no scratches or imperfections on the slider, and after the first rebuild, had no leak problems (till I messed up). Now it just started on it's own.

I am waiting on ANOTHER set of seals to arrive, and I am thinking of ordering some Bel-Ray oil for both forks, since they claim to have "seal swell" to help prevent leaking (thinking maybe 15 wt too). And, of course, I will thoroughly inspect the sliders to make sure there are no scratches. Might even polish them to be sure...

I had someone say - I can't remember where or when that i wouldn't need the special tool for replacing the fork seals.  Is this correct?  Can i do this myself with a standard compliment of tools?

If anyone is in the Nashville TN area I'd be interested in hooking up to do the work.
