Hey Bros!!! Realized today I believe my right upper fork seal is leaking.
Anyone in the Albuquerque area that can lend a hand?? I'll be arriving in a few hours and spending at least the night and maybe more depending on the severity of this problem.
1)......Does this require immediate attention? It's not pouring out, but is noticeable as the oil is picking up dirt....
2) What is entailed in the repair? Easy? Hard?
Thanks in advance for the info!!
I'll be checking back in a few hours so if anyone is in the area or can lend a hand, let me know!!

Definitely not an emergency repair. I tied a red shop rag around the slider to catch the leaking oil. It worked so well that I stayed lazy and fixed it about 20,000 miles later. The repair is doable as I did my own.

Not emergency unless it's just gushing. I let mine go for about a year before I finally got the fork seals replaced.

just make sure the fork oil isn't getting on the brake pads or rotor....the rag trick (mentioned above) will get you home.

And the oil really won't hurt the pads any or seriously effect your braking. Just a mess to clean up.

Gordo, Give me a call when you get in and let me know the status of the leak and your plans. I have never done the seal myself but willing to give a hand if I can. I also know all the shops here in town. I live in Rio Rancho, just outside Abq. You might try the film negative trick, just a thought. My # is 505-Four Zero One-739 One

Many thanks to all who responded, and to F6 Banger who called me and also told me about the film trick.
A few years ago, I would have had a plethora of film to select from for the repair...But no more as it's all zeros and ones........
I didn't realize that the NM ride was this weekend. Looks like I"m might be joining as I'm in the "Q" and headed north tomorrow!!
