Got the July issue in the mail today .... in there is an article called "Tales From The Darkside" about the use of car tires.  Sorry, but I don't have a link to the article. They brought out some things I never considered regarding liability in an accident.

I haven't received my issue yet, but I'll be looking to see how many ads there are from MC tire mfgs in its pages.

I always thought about the CT liability issue. But would the same argument apply to cars and trucks
using wheels and tires for which the vehicle was not designed? I wonder.

No insurance company I am aware of has ever dared to deny coverage because of the car tire

I have a very close friend, a brother who had his 97 red and white totalled and he got full
check that... better than full value with a car tire on the back

LEO was at scene and wrote him up a bodacious police report I could not have written better for a client

Ride your ride  If the car tire works for you then use it

It didnt float my boat after a year of riding the eastern states including the PA mountains and hills and WV on a trip to Marlinton but I freely admit it did some things better than any bike tire, like starting stopping and rain traction  I think bigd is STILL riding it now

I did LOVE the car tire on Hayhaulers Goldwing last month on our GOTF ride.  
Acceleration and the stopping was superb.  There was only 4 turns and it did those ok too   hey it is south texas

As usual YMMV and this legal advise is worth what you paid for it

What would be the consequenses if you had an accident in your sporty car using say,...Dunlop E3s?

I believe most "motojournalists" are so full of crap that their eyes are brown.

These magazine reporters have to say it's unsafe.  Can you imagine the grief they would catch from their major sponsors like; Avon, Metzler and Dunlop.

To take darkside advice from this magazine would be like taking marital advice from a celebate priest.  I'm sure they mean well, but they just haven't been there to know what the hell they are talking about.

I'm still waiting for someone to come up with the first accident report where the car tire is the cause.
