I was checking out the bike pictures when I came across this:

http://photo.vrccservices.com/albums/userpics/21329/P1040682.JPG

A most awesome bike by Wolfhound.

Those doodads on the engine guards over the valve covers.  I want.  Bad.

I remember a site that had them back in August of 2010, the night before I went 500 miles to pick up my 99 I/S.  I was so pumped about getting this bike I totally forgot to save the link.

Try as I might, I haven't been able to find them.

I would be eternally grateful for a link, or even a brand name or something I can search for.

Thanks in advance,

Thanks for the reply!

Right thread, wrong product.

I probably did see them on Valkyrieblingandmore.  They're gone now.  Bummer.

They are the same thing the 1500 Goldwing has.

It would be mighty nice to not worry about burning my legs when I stretch out on the highway boards.

If I can't find them, or if they're stupid expensive, I might just find somebody to make them, or something like them.  Perhaps something like the saddlebag guards.

The only ones I could find don't quote a valk, just the gl1500 so I don't know if the fitment is good or not, is Add on Accessories 45-8533.

I don't think these are the same ones on Wolfhound's bike. These ones have a slight turnout and a slight bend up top. You could try a PM to Wolfhound for more info.
EDIT: looking between the oem fiche and that product I'm thinking it won't fit at all.

Well I can tell you the standard engine guard works just fine and that thing looks like it will bend right in and smash the valve cover.  I just dont see the improvement, the motor is beautiful and that is an unecessary cage hiding it IMHO

I agree, these things are likely useless for protecting the motor, and might damage the valve covers some if the bike tips over.  I doubt they'll do much damage, since they're only held on by a couple bolts.

I do want some protection for my legs.  I'm not Ghost Rider...hot valve covers are somewhat uncomfortable on my legs.  I'd much rather have nice, cool valve cover guards against my legs.

As for the looks, well, to me the bike looks good with or without them.

I was interested in getting a set of those a year or so ago (since changed my mind).  Big Mike from Valkyrie Bling and more sent me an email telling me he had a couple sets of those.  Again, that was awhile back, but you might want to give him a shout-out and to see if he's got a line on any.

Also, can't remember the link, but someone posted a link to a European site that listed a whole bunch of Valk stuff and that site listed those as well (they're proud of everything on that $ite though).  Dag may know of it.  Pm him or some of the other european members.

Ok, here you go, a link to a German site, they are Fehling Engine guards.

Thats not a bad price, on ebay.de, the german ebay they cost as much as 179 euros.

The German unit is a complete replacement for our stock guards. Not an added loop.
