Hello all. I just wanted to drop by and say hello.  I am Doc Williams from Maryland, and I used to have a '98 Valkyrie Standard and hang around this forum quite a bit.  I attended the last Inzane in Zanesville and one in Padukah, Ky (it was hot!).  My Valkyrie was sold a few years ago and I rode a Triumph for the last three years, but I recently swapped it for an '07 Harley Street Glide.  I apologize for that, but I missed that big heavy bike, and I couldn't find a Tourer that I liked nearby.  I figure that there might only be one more bike in this 57 year old body, and I'd never done Harley so I thought I'd give it a shot.  So far, so good.  It ain't as smooth as the dragon, but it goes down the road pretty good, and hasn't given me any trouble yet and hasn't stained my garage floor.  I'm looking to maybe put a big road trip in here shortly as I just learned last week, that my company is gonna shutter the steel mill I'm working in, and I'm gonna be laid off.  Before I jump into another job (if it's possible to do that at my old age), I think I'm gonna take a ride.  Will you guys still let me hang around here?  Some of those Harley types are azzholes, but I always liked (most of) you guys.  If I show up at the next Inzane y'all won't kick sand in my face will ya?

It's not about what you ride, but that you ride.  It's about the people that we meet, we might not have met you, but have met and made friends with so many that we wouldn't have if it weren't for the Valkyrie.  Hope your career change makes you wonder why you didn't change sooner.  I think I would stay in higher elevations at this time of year, don't come South.  Smiley

Welcome Back Bro

While I can promise no one will kick sand in your face at InZane, I can't promise you it won't be hot.
That Paducah your talking about was HOT that year wasn't it?

Dave, Paducah was nasty!  The weather, the town, all of it except the Land Between the Lakes.  That was a good ride.  The hotel was OK too, especially the manager who had the chopped Honda.  Oh yeah, Metropolis was OK, too.  I remember the guy (although I can't recall his name at the moment) who was doing burnouts in front of Superman while the local police stood by and patiently looked on.

Welcome back. I say, once a VRCC member, always a member of the family. RJ is still around. Ratdog is working in Alaska in the Prudhoe Bay Oil Fields so he doesn't get on a much as he used to, but RJ and I can still reach him through email.

Can't vouch for the others...someone else will chime in.

That would've been Highlander,( Bill.)

Bill is no longer on the board.  He sold both of his Valks and we haven't heard much from him since.

RJ doesn't ride his Valk anymore, he's on oxygen, but he does ride his  V8 trike occasionally.  He will prorbably chime in here.

Welcome back .

Solo1...Yeah Highlander!  I remember him!  I think pics were posted here of him while it was happening.  Glad to hear RJ's still hanging around.  I can only hope to stay on two wheels as long as he did.  A true biker if ever there was one.

Eric, I'm in Bel Air in Harford County.  Tell me a little more about the hillbilly ride.  I dunno if I'll be laid off by then or not, but if I am, I might be up for that ride.  I gotta get outta Dodge, ya know?
