Most folks would consider me an internet power user.  With that said, I use plain ole google.com as my start page.

Any links that I need, or frequently use, are saved on my browser toolbar.  I have a dozen or so listed there with shortened names to save space.  All bookmarks are saved to http://delicious.com/ via their Firefox extension which allows me to sync my bookmarks across all the computers I use(4).  (I have over 700 bookmarks/favorites saved there)  I save anything I might want to refer to later and i can tag them with keywords for easy retrieval.

Why do I use google as my start page?  Because I use google more than anything else and it loads lightning fast.  A quick click on the Home icon in Firefox, and I'm back at google.com and ready to do a search.

If you want a truely customizable, unique, feature rich homepage you should try http://www.netvibes.com .  You can add widgets for just about everything.  Weather, news, your email, links, rss feeds, stocks, facebook, blogs...the list is endless. Re-aranging things is as simple as dragging items around the page.

I use the new IE which allows tabbed browsing. When my internet starts it loads 4 tabs, Yahoo, Fox News, VRCC and Google. I spend most of my time here and Yahoo. If I am searching hard for something I use Google. I have hundreds of links saved in My Favorites, many music sites and many firearms related sites plus all my motocycle links are saved under the VRCC part of My Fav's.

I think I should have no other mortal wants, if I could always have plenty of music. It seems to infuse strength into my limbs and ideas into my brain. Life seems to go on without effort, when I am filled with music.
