Used one on a cross country trip 8000mi in 2008. Loved it. If you purchase remember less is more.  The least amount of air you can inflate with and still fully support you the more the Air Hawk distributes the pressure on your rear. Lets air flow helps keep you dryer.  Reduces monkey butt. Helped a lot. cooldude
Also used an Alaskan Leathers Fleece.  More comfort.

They are well-built and help on long rides. I had one for a while. However, make sure you get the medium cruiser without the front "neck," as the large cruiser pad, when you sit on it, really does a number on the "boys."

My wife loves hers but I did not like mine.  I never could get the damn thing to be comfy for me.  Mine is on the shelf in my garage.

If you can afford it, do yourself a favor and get a good aftermarket seat. I tried gel pad, jell insert, and an air hawk and was dissatisfied with them all. I bought a King Big Boy and it solved my problems.

I ride the medium cruiser (rubber) all year round, except the coldest weather.  Nothing is better.  I use it on my Ultimates.

The new one is supposed to be better yet, but spendy.

BTW, you can generally get better prices going to one of their vendors.

http://www.rlmotorcycles.com/AirHawk-Cruiser-Medium-p/ah-med.htm (2-yr warranty)

http://www.rlmotorcycles.com/product-p/ah2-med1.htm (1-yr warranty)

Do not sit down hard on it and blow out a side seam, it cannot be repaired.

For all you airhawk users if you want to be able to adjust you cushion on the fly, pick up a manual blood pressure  tester ( the kind with the hand pump) cut the hose off  to what ever length you like, open the valve on the airhawk, slide the hose over the open valve (it will be snug) , then use the valve on the pump  to bleed off air or add air, just like they use it on the tester, works great.

I've had a medium Airhawk for a few years but haven't used it on the Valk yet. The most I've ridden the Valk in a day so far has been around 300 miles but with the Ultimate BigBoy and the Valk's excellent suspension I was comfortable enough. Anything more than that, the Airhawk will be pressed into service. I probably should mention that as I've gotten older, I don't have the muscle mass "back there" like I did a decade or two ago. The Airhawk replaces some of that lost cushioning for the hip bones.
But I have used the Airhawk on other, not so comfy saddles. One that comes to mind was a stiff Corbin "plank" I had on a Kawasaki ZR1100 I used to own. The ZR had a fairly stiff suspension anyway but with the Corbin the ride was just brutal. The Airhawk made a huge difference with that one. Totally transformed the ride quality.
Like has been said, the key is getting the pressure right and the sweet spot will most likely be lower than you expect.

I have the air hawk on my interstate. Really helped me, stays cooler, bottom stays dry, which makes the difference. Keep the air pressure low just enough that you can roll your bottom from side to side. Adjust so the cushion doesn't try to inflate between your thigh and seat, you will know what I mean when you ride and it stays comfortable. Was going to try sheepskin but didn't need to. Remember, very little air pressure. Have fun.

I'm with Trynt, bought a ultimate big boy seat w/backrest, love it. Have Airhawk also but never have to pull it out of the saddle bag. Also purchased the passenger seat and back rest for the ole lady, she's very comfy back there.

Ultimate will be at Inzane.  You can try one there.  If you buy, they ship your old seat back free.

If you're not into hiking to Arkansas, they'll probably be at Sturgis (not confirmed yet).

+1 on the air hawk. Wife and I use ours every time. Really excellent on the hot humid days here. Also no problem when riding in the rain. As far as the uncomfortable boys I found it more comfortable to were BDU's and going commando IMHO. I must admit the amount air in the seat is critical, less is better.

Have not tried the AirHawk, but purchased an Alaskan Fur Butt Pad - Awesome!

12 hrs in the saddle is no problem, even with my Corbin.  Comfy and no monkey butt.

Why don't you talk to Des, and see if he will send you one with a logo to try, and then if you like it, trade it for one without a logo. If he's willing to do that, you can't go wrong.
