after complete desmog there are bolt holes left where the bolts attached the PAIR valves. Does anyone bother plugging those holes? The original bolts are too long. Is it worth buying shorter bolts to fill them? Any issues that I may not be aware of if left open?

aluminum does corrode where moisture, dirt and etc., can collect, put some bolts in IMHO.

I always cut them in half,round the ends a little and put them back in.

Or

Blow out the holes and fill with Silicone sealant. Silicone can handle the heat and be picked out if needed.

Okay...the consensus is to plug them...will do. I cleaned that whole "vally" area and repainted it with silver brake caliper paint from Advance Auto. Its an almost exact color match and its good to 700 degrees. If the block gets that hot Id be surprised! I polished the chrome water tubes with liquid Bar Keepers Friend. Great stuff...took off all of the rust specks and left it shiney..sure looks nice and clean and no clutter. Red eyes desmog kit sure is nice...professional looking too. I almost hate to put the carb bank back on.....lol...no I dont!
