Strange stuff

I changed oil and checked my tires for a long ride this weekend. Pressure in rear tire was good at ~40lbs. Checked the front and the gauge didn't work properly. Went into my shop and got another gauge and checked the front....58lbs. Checked the rear...60lbs. Damn! Went and got another gauge from my car and it read the same high pressures. So I dropped the pressures down to 40 where they belong. NO wonder my bike has been riding like a log truck...tires were hard as bricks. I will check my gauges against each other more often after this.....lesson learned.

I prefer the screw on type that is part of my air compresser. That way I don't push and break the stem supports trying to get a better seal because I don't believe the reading I'm getting from my presure guage.

Get rid of those crappy Honda valve stems and you won't have to worry about that. I know you're north of the border but I'm sure you can find a tire dealer that sells 90* metal valve stems.

Avon front about 2K, Bridgestone rear about 400. But I think that the increased pressure was just around 400 miles in both tires, just since I installed the new rear and checked the pressure in both with the gauge that went bad.
