Beautiful east Tennessee ( GOD'S Country )

Took off yesterday for Deal's Gap to hook up with The North Georgia Motorcycle Club for lunch at Deal's Gap, North Carolina.Did'nt know Mike ( hubcap ) or Ray ( Razor ) was even coming. We saw several Valkyries yesterday in fact the most I've seen ever unless it was one of our rides. Talked to a dude from Mississippi that claimed he'd never looked on the internet for Valkyrie Club's and the final drive on his bike had never been serviced in 45,000 miles  Shocked  This first shot I took on the way over at the overlook the dude pulling it was pretty cool he even gave me a ice cold water. I found his trailer disturbing and had it on my mind most of the day not because of the religious nature but the fact it was a child's casket.

Picture from the overlook the beautiful cool weather had folks out diggin' the day.

Rolled into Deal's Gap and the first thing I see is Mike.

Our friend Paul ( Thumper ) got a nice fast driving award coming up through Georgia.

After lunch everyone took off for home and Mike The Explorer ask me if I wanted to go check out some backroads....Let's Ride  Smiley
Mike posted this same shot in his thread and he called it right this was a awesome view of the mountains.

I've passed the road we turned off Hwy 28 many times and would always think to myself I needed to check that road out. Next picture took at Yellow Creek.

We both had gas so we was'nt lost but time was a factor for both of us .

Decisions, Decisions ....Anyone that's ever rode with Mike The Explorer know's he will take you down some cool backroads and yesterday we only turned around once.

"The Money Shot " taken at Cheoah Dam known to the locals as The Fugitive Dam because its the one Harrison Ford jumped off of in the movie The Fugitive.Great ride with Mike The Explorer and one I wished we had more time to do....I look forward to when we can hook up again and do it again maybe next make a full day out of it and just ride till dark and get a room for the over-night.

If you want to get properly "lost", you need one of these...

I forgot mine yesterday... that map in Joe's picture has been floating around in the bottom of my
saddlebag for 5 years... I don't think I ever tried to use it until yesterday... it is worthless...

I've plotted many routes across South Carolina (and an infamous route to Natchez Mississippi  Roll Eyes )
using Delorme Gazetteers, one of my favorite ones had me on a dirt/sand road next to one
of the branches of the Edisto river for over an hour (in my truck)...

I'm definitely up for searching out "where this road goes" with no time constraints...

Yesterday I was wondering "what happens if you go down Old Sweetwater Road" off of 143?
You can go into Lower Tuskeegee road off 28, and pop out way far away on another part of 28
if you don't go down one of the dead ends... is it all paved?

Sometimes you find a winner...

Sometimes you find a looser...

-Mike "but it is all good..."

Not supposed to get emotional but I was really moved to see Joe, Ray, and Mike up at the Dragon yesterday.  Really put a smile on my face.

Can't wait to see everyone this coming weekend...especially the big guy from Maryland. cooldude

You looked good yesterday Paul I'm thinking in 25 years or so I'll sell all my Valkyrie's and let everyone here know I'm done with this website. I'll be sure to say " See you later Paul "  cooldude
You are the acorn that stood your ground to become a mighty oak tree  .

Without looking at google... has "point" in the name and is near Townville... it's on
lake Hartwell...  cooldude  There's 500 acres on the lake for sale near Townville,
someone should buy it...  Townville, up on the main road, away from the lake
development, hasn't changed much in the last 100 years...

HA! Mike! Can't tell you how many times I was saying that exact same thing when living in Fl., I went riding up in your neck of the woods. And I mean woods!! (that could be my front fender)
I envy the lush landscape that's your backyard now that I'm in the desert. As Donald said, heat was brutal last week! Keep on keeping on guys! cooldude

When I've flown to the west coast, on the way back I keep looking out the window for when it turns green again, and I know I'm almost
home  cooldude

That particular picture is a road in West Virginia I picked out of my Gazetteer and lead 3fan, Highbinder and Jess down... it was paved, then gravelly,
then... dirt...

They're about gone now, but my (dirt) driveway is lined with Chestnut trees, and in the spring there's these
tassels hanging from them... billions of them... the aroma is like heaven...
