The Honda instructions for the mounting of the CB radio underneath the trunk lead me to believe that the unit is exposed to the elements.  Is this correct?  Is the unit fairly watertight?

I have purchased a compatible Yamaha unit, and it came with a small plastic casing that I had to adapt to the trunk mounting rails.  It was difficult to install and looks bulky.  Doesn't leave much space between itself and the rear fender.

Do I need this case?  Anyone else in this group have their radio exposed?  Got any pics or a link to share?

Thanks,
Steve

Steve, the cords on my Yamaha unit were too short so I cut out one of the panels in the storage compartment behind the battery and the radio fit in there. It's worked for several years now.
