At idle about how many volts should the alternator put out. Currently at idle or a tad more it is about 14.2 volts. Thanks in advance, Bassin

sounds about right dont have a exact number but as a general rule if you had less than 12 your alt would be shot

If your at 14.2 at 1500 rpms or below alt is in good shape. At idle with no extra lights 12 is still good. These bikes just idle too low 800 -900rpms to make much juice.

I have my idle set to 1000 to keep oil pumping, water flowing and voltage charging.
