Hey Robin,

I stayed at a brand new Motel 6 in Hot Springs during Sturgis 08. Rates were $135.00 during bike week and dropped to $65.00 per nite the second week I was there. Hot Springs is a real nice town, clean stores, good food, nice people. Gas Station, snacks & coffee 300' from hotel. Hot Springs  is about 30 minutes south of Custer.

I'll see you and Judy at the Blue & Gray ride.

I'm in Rapid City, about 40 miles from Custer.  I'd recommend the Rock Crest Lodge.  It's on the main drag, very nice, clean, close to everything.  It's a good way to avoid all the lookalike chains.

The number:  605-673-4323.  I'm in no way affiliated yada yada yada.

We stayed at the Best Western in Keystone. There is also one in Hill CIty and a little cheaper. Great little Steak and salad place in a house turned into a restaurant, on first corner coming into town in Hill City, At least it was there 3 years ago?   cooldude

Better to be judged by 12, then carried by 6.

Only thing I remember about Custer is a subway resturaunt. Depending on how shy you are, there are a few campgrounds between Deadwood and Custer. If its a nice night lay out on the lawn, tentless. If its bad out might find a room. I'd advise not riding to there near or after dark. Esp if you go through the hills. Your really not to far from Rapid, I'm sure there are m&p there. Have yukon hook you up. But like RJ stated, good luck on a decent price or a room. Mines been resv since Dec.
