but they only created 69,000 jobs. and the rate went down to 8.1 percent. why?

no sitting president has ever been reelcted with an unemployment rate higher then 8%

it doesn't matter what the true rate is, the reported rate WILL be 8% or less.

They didn't create 69,000 jobs.  They predicted a 200,000 drop, and when it only dropped by 131,000, they claim the difference as creating.  Must be the new math.

The unemployment rate also drops when people give up looking for work.  As far as I can tell, "unemployed" means having no  job but looking for one.  Folks like me, no job and not looking, are "retired"

the extended benefits were cut off a short time ago. 10s of thousands dropped off the rolls at that time.

The unemployment numbers posted are a crock to make O or any other president look good do you ever wonder why things feel worse than anyone really says. The U-3 unemployment rate is the monthly headline number. The U-6 unemployment rate is the Bureau of Labor Statistics’ (BLS) broadest unemployment measure, including short-term discouraged and other marginally-attached workers as well as those forced to work part-time because they cannot find full-time employment. The U6 rate is hovering between 14 to 16 percent thats the real story. The other problem is that the companies fire high paid workers and rehire others to cover the ones let go at a much lower rate and the ones that had the high paying jobs are made to suffer with lower wages. Also lets not forget that some local governments at their own discretion are either not paying unemployment in the beginning or just saying your done close to the end. If you look at the link you can also see the rates for other presidents.
