Get your honey's hair dryer, and as mentioned....some fishing line. If no fishing line, some strong string will work but not as good(keeps breaking). I also suggest some gloves because it will cut into your fingers as you sorta saw back and forth with the line. I used the hair dryer off/on during the process, it's only on there with strong double sided tape and the heat softens it. I used Goof Off to clean the sticky residue off when done, then clean the surface with something less potent. Took me about a half hour for both sides.

Dental Floss works too...and it doesn't matter if it is mint or plain.  Cheesy

For those that have removed the tank emblems, did you find a visible
difference in color due to the weathering of the exposed paint?

I've removed one of those big fender emblems from an Interstate fender using the fishing line and WD-40 before.....and no, there was no difference in paint color.  Just use a pair of gloves so the line won't cut into your fingers.

must be some wicked strong floss, I've never seen it actually done with floss-only talked about.
Share with us the brand/type of floss.
The stuff I've tried breaks
