What percentage of CO2 do humans introduce to the atmosphere, compared to oceans, trees, decaying plant life, etc?

If humans cut their output of CO2 by 20-30% in the next 20 years how much will that change the total percentage of CO2 in the atmosphere?

Is there more CO2 in the atmosphere than let's say during the Jurassic Period?

Is CO2 a pollutant or a nutrient?

What percentage of global warming is caused by water vapor vs. CO2?

Yes these are all loaded questions, but if you draw your conclusions from facts vs. politics what really is the impact of CO2?

Final question, who stands to profit/benefit from draconian measures that could be taken by laws to limit human output of CO2?

The percentage of Americans who think most scientists believe global warming is occurring has dropped 13 points from two years ago, and is the lowest since the first time Gallup asked this question back in 1997.

Here's what is important to me, we as a people should do all that is humanly possible to limit the amount of noxious chemicals we put into our our environment. Progress can be and has been made, growing up in Los Angeles I've seen great improvement in our air quality vs. the 1970's, that said it's a good start for us here in L.A. but it is just that a start, so much more needs to be done!

Thespian,

If YOU are still riding a motorcycle, driving a car, using any electricity, natural gas, city water then not only are you a hypocrite you sir are a fool.

Easy edit.

Are you buying any eating any kind of store bought food or wearing factory produced clothing of any sort???

Hypocrites are so much much fun.

Double edit.

Living in a home manufactured from man made products.

Can you see how silly you are???

I wonder if you are a believer in the Fed Govt new number of green jobs created???

Triple edit. This is so much fun.

Agreed I don't want the nest fouled but..... CO2 + warm temps = plant growth
LA is a special place where the air doesn't get recycled in that valley. when you have onshore breezes it traps whatever right there for you guys to breathe.
the first time I saw LA I was impressed I could see the mountains, my bro spent a few years out there he never knew there were mountains Shocked

How am I hypocritical when I point out a problem that needs addressing. Yes I am a part of this technological society, and I intent to continue living in it, not running off tho the hills to hope Gods return saves me. Pointing out problems that need
addressing, as well as the special interest groups that keep it from happening is what I am doing with this post.

How small is our ecosystem, and how much or little is humanitys impact on it?  I don't know. Do you?
If we are to be good stewards of the planet as the bible teaches, just saying, "its just a cyclical thing" and writing it off is at best, foolish, and at worst criminal.

(intentional Al Gore qoute) "the science is set"  no it's not there are many scientists that disagree with global warming, and many that are getting grants to push global warming.

it is cyclical. the mean temperature was supposed to be much higher today then it is. exactly how much I'm not sure Undecided

Yea, growing up in Los Angeles basin we would go weeks without seeing the mountains. When I was a kid we had "Smog Alerts" where they'd keep us inside and not let us go to recess, and in the summer we had a lot of Smog Alerts.

Now we see the mountains almost everyday and when we don't it's because of the on shore marine layer.

As for smog alerts I can't remember the last time we had one.

I do believe the earth to be experiencing climate change, but again the CO2 that man contributes is so very small (way less than 1% if I understand what I'm reading) in comparison to other contributors that it has little or no impact when compared to water vapor, sun activity, volcanoes, mammals breathing, oceans churning, etc.

Not being a large fan of government intrusion into stuff I think the man made CO2 thing has not been proven as an authentic threat, whereas L.A. had an apparent, easily defined air quality problem. With this problem I believe government interdiction made a large and positive impact on the air quality in L.A.

So, government attention can be a positive factor and when I say government I mean the people. The current fuss about CO2 is not the people clamoring for the government to do something about a problem as first there has to be a provable problem and way more evidence that whatever solution is being taken really can improve the problem. Al Gore had not made his case, again in my very humble opinion.
