rightie-tightie
lefty-losie
clockwise to snug them up, counter-clockwise to open them
visualize looking at them from the bottom

Go easy,, nice light touch,, bottom them gently..  If you feel like removing them, then you can cut a slot for a normal screwdriver and add a dab [technical term] of never-seize to the threads..

Well tried it... they are all seized.. well I couldn't get them to turn and almost rounded out #6.... first one I tried.. only used fingers- no wrench or pliers....

Sooo.. guess I need to pull the bank and free them up.. Angry   .. Im just not good with carbs ("A man has got to know his limitations" as Clint says)

Reason is, bike is running rich.. desmoged it and still popping... all new caps on vacuum... was out on the bike Friday-Bike was very warm as I was puttering around downtown Detroit and up and down Woodward and was soo rich at times my eyes teared up a couple of times...

I did take the tank off today and it did look like the 2 of the air box boots looked like they weren't seated properly... put it back together and it seemed better... didn't seem as rich today, but just a short ride...... not as much popping on decel...... but it will pop once in a while at idle back in the driveway. Ive always had a Wing before and had other Wings to compare to.... but maybe I'm just reading to many bad stories on hear and gettin' up over nuthin'

Maybe I need someone in the area to look at it and see if its the bike or just me???????

99 Valk Standard
I found it much easier to adjust the pilot screws with the manifolds off.
Its a small tool and as Im sure you have found not much room to get in there.

Manifold O-rings were the major cause of my popping.
Which I never would have even looked at if I hadnt taken them off 1st.
I just changed out the manifold O-rings on friday.
Mine were flat as pancakes.
Cured my popping.
Wasnt a thing wrong with my carb adjustments.
