I have an open trailer I've always trailerd the Valk with, but I find myself in need of a small enclosed cargo trailer.  I am considering one of the 6 X 12 V-nose job's manufactured in central Georgia.  See attached link for what I had in mind.  My question is can I get two full dressers in one this size or do I need to go to a 7' wide?  Is 12' enough length to properly stagger two bikes?  Two bikes is about 75% of the load capacity of a single axle trailer, should I go to a tandem axle trailer?  One 7' wide and a tandem axle will add about $1K to the price.

Thanx for your input.

Double axle is easier to backup, and should you have a flat....guess you know the answer to that when compared to a single axle with a flat. A buddy and I got two Wings in a 6'x12' once, side by side, very close. But if it doesn't have a front door there's a lot of wasted space up front if you can't get to it. If you can handle the extra $$, I'd go for the slightly larger tandem, also easier to park.

I don't have an Interstate and I don't have two of any bikes but, I have several trailers.  What I will say is, tandem axles are twice the price and twice the maintenance and twice as many tires but, they ride so much better than a single axle.

I recently took an older tandem axle boat trailer and built myself a utility trailer out of it.  I searched out the trailer I got, I wanted exactly what I purchased.  Everyone that I know kept asking me why I used this particular trailer.  The reason I wanted a tandem axle was because it provides the load with a much better ride.  Realizing this might not be legal in many states but, given the opportunity, take a ride on two similar trailers, one a single axle the other a tandem and you'll quickly agree.

I don't use this trailer for just my Valkyrie but, my Valkyrie is the biggest reason I built the trailer I have.   I know lots of folks like enclosed trailers and won't say anything against them, they just aren't for me at this point in my life.  Been there, done that.
