Imagine, if you will, in the future? Could a motorcycle have: a faring (with an air bag) The faring having slots where your knees and most of your legs go up inside, like some do now (with side airbags) and seat belts? With the usual crash bars etc. Would it work to save a rider is some cases? Or only in the rarest of wrecks? If a rider had a seatbelt on and all 3 airbags deployed, it seems like it could work to me. Just a pipe dream?

There was a guy who made a bike with a full roll cage and airbags and 5 point harness....
Was ugly as sin...... looked like a cage.... with 2 less wheels.

Mmm, Honda has a Goldwing with that option. Not sure what year it started, but I remember it being part of the offering in 2011. Only the front, for now!

look up hit-air jacket got mine from bikebone years ago May get a new one next year its getting a bit tattered by now and the new one inflates in1/4 second mesh, ce armor with spine pad and air bag feature Wear it all year round even below freezing If someone cuts in front of me and I go airborne, I want whatever edge I can get These cages took out Old skool, almost took out Willow and Bonzo and many others and the deer Pricey? I dont think so, compared to busted ribs, pelvis shoulder or losing a spleen? http://www.bikebone.com/page/BBSC/CTGY/AT

Personal airbag seems like it'd work a lot better than an air bag attached to the bike. http://www.crashbounce.com/

you arent strapped Brian
the tether comes off at the same or less pressure as your communication would come off from your helmet,
Lets look at statistics
Are you more likely to have to shoot someone with a gun while riding
or more likely to have some scumbag cause a Tbone or other accident, or your own as they do happen riders get rear ended and also rear end other objects
I am not saying dont carry just saying there is more to the equation that first meets the eye
ride safe and hope that not wearing a skid plate on the noggin never comes back to hurt you

I dont want to be strapped to the bike. NO WAY will I be strapped to a bike!! I dropped a bike years ago about 125 mph and slid about 300' on my right side and when I let go of the bike she went end over end. I'd been dead meat if I was on the bike...about every part on it broke off! And the thought of air bags scare me!
