Gidday......have started noticing that when I go to start the bike...occasionally ...that when pressing the starter button,it will not engage the starter.....2nd time it cranks the motor with no issues......my Question.......is this the start of Solenoid problems??????

I realize that there could be other issues, but is there are history with solenoids on this model or others,,,,,,I have had other bikes and the replacent of the solenoid generally clears up these issues....

The bike has 23,000 miles on it,with what I call ..normal use..........thanks in advance

It's more likely to be a starter switch in need of cleaning and lubing. There is an article on this in the Shop Talk section.
BTW if you have auxilliary lights or higher  wattage headlight it can overheat and destroy the contacts in the starter switch. Relays are standard equipment on the Interstate but not on the Standard and Tourer models.
I added relays after my starter switch melted.
