Just found a model I liked (the compact nautilus truck horn) and I can't find one anywhere - it seems (from this GL1800riders post) that they have gone bankrupt.  tickedoff

Only ones I can find on fleabay are in Australia and they want an arm and leg for shipping them.

Oh well - there's gotta be something comparable out there.

did not know the stebel nautilus air horn is no longer being made and no longer in production.  If so, thanks for the tip and might consider the wolo bad boy air horn then for around 50 bucks or so but have heard the stebel nautilus is louder which I would prefer.  Any comments on the wolo bad boy vs. the stebel nautilus in terms of loudness and reliability???

i've got the Wolo bad boy horn from harbor freight, it's alright, nothing too spactacular.  got it for $25, it was missing the relay plus i had a 20% off coupon.  the manager gave me a deal because of the relay, thankfully i noticed it the second i walked out the door, turned around with in 1 second and showed the cashier.  the figured i didn't take the relay, i've got several more in my shed anyway so i didn't need the one that was missing....

Here's a video that demos the Stebel Nautilus Compact Truck horn.  I'm just not a fan of the higher pitched air/electric horns.

BigBF is a VRCC member, a fine man, and a good mechanic with good products to sell, but he is not a board sponsor.

Bill does attend and contribute generously to InZane.

The Wolo Bad Boyz horn and the Stebel Nautilus are identical.

Wow! Your comment caused me to do some research.  I could've sworn when I bought my Bar Boy horns a few years back they were marketed as 139db.

What I found was that some of the vendors are advertising Wolo Bad Boy horns as 139db and some as 118db.  Wolo's own website specifies 118db, but doesn't note a distance.

Stebel's Nautilus on the other hand appears to always be marketed as 139db.  Stebel's own website specifies that the Nautilus is 139db at 2 inches.  It also specifies the Nautilus is 115db at two meters.

I wonder who held his ear two inches from the horn to get that reading?   Shocked

I believe I'll stand by my original statement.  They are identical in both appearance and function.  The only way we'll know for sure is to get two of them next to each other an do a sound test.  Actually, we may not even know then, because the actual performance will be influenced by how well each horn is wired and how much power the hosting systems provide.

I don't use my Bad Boy unless it's truly needed.  It has a tendency to awaken the dead.   Smiley
