I see posts that intake o rings have to be replaced, often before 50k. What are the symptoms that appear as they get to that point?

ruff eneven idle you can spray starter fluid at the base of the intake runners if rpm goes higher there is air getting by the o rings beware this is also a small flame thrower you are building my bike had only 8500 miles on it and was stored in a heated garage and the orings got hard and let air seep thru at idle causing uneven idle went away with new orings

visually, you will normally see some brown liquid around the joint between the head and intake.

If you need them, they are a #123 size and if you find them in viton or silicone you'll never have to replace them again. Hardware store has buna N. Not good for heat and fuel applications.

I've also heard propane torch/no flame will find intake leaks.
