on tuesday i took a ride up to a cabin we rent every year.  earlier i posted a story about a stupid deer attempting to ruin our trip, (http://www.valkyrieforum.com/bbs/index.php/topic,43669.0.html ) but instead wacked his head along side a semi truck.  my wife said that on her way home today she saw an eagle eatting off of the deer carcus on the side of the road, serves him right.....

i didn't get pictures of everything, my wife saw a black bear swiming in the lake, of course she didn't have a camera with her, not ever her cell phone!!  as far as i know, it could have been big foot!!  many beautiful animals out there, seems like every year there's some cool thing to take a picture of!  last year my girls took a photo of a snapping turtle laying eggs. i'll see if i can find that one, i'll post it later.
well, here are some of those pictures i mentioned;
my daughter, niece and brother in law heading in for the day.

my little girl.....  yeah, that's a keeper!!

when we first started coming to this lake there weren't any eagles, now there are at least six of 'em!!

their nests are HUGE!!!

the night sky, kinda dark, but the stars were AWSOME!!  the only light polution was the from our own camp site, nothing on the other side of the lake, for the last twenty years we've been coming here, there's only one house on the other side.

Nice pics,  northern WI sure has a ton of bald eagles flying around.  We have been up on a small lake a few times in a rented cabin near St. Germain WI the past few years.  Pretty awesome to see about 10-15 bald eagles (some may be the same one though?) flying around and swooping down right next to us fishing and nabbing a fish out of the water.  We even had one in a nest right above us along shore and those bald eagles are surely huge up close like that right above our heads.  Wouldn't move and just ignored us as if it didn't care we were only about 15' below it.  Northern WI sure is a lot prettier in terms of wildlife and scenery or so it seems to me since I'm from southern WI farmland with rolling hills all my life.

Leaving for Canada, Dryden area next Friday. Now you have me fired up for getting out where there is no light pollution, great photos.

great pics. girls look like their having a fun time.

very nice night time pic. did you use a timer?

several years ago some friends and i booked a fly-in fishing trip through canoecanada.com

had a REALLY great time. 5 days with a flyover midweek. had 5-6 lakes we could portage to.

caught so many small mouths, i had to quit for a while, to let my arm rest!!

i will go back sometime.
