Used up my Avon on the front and decided to try a rear on the front like some of you guys have.   I know the Avon was worn out, but at 75+ in a sweeper it just didn't feel as stable as I prefer.  No wobble, just not quite right.  It's no doubt that a new Avon would have felt better.
Went with the D404.  Rode a little over 200 miles today with a bit of peg dragging.  Rode the Pig Trail between Eureka and Ozark.  Really like it!  It's a better tire with the CT. This tire was rock solid from the start.  Doesn't want to track with rough pavement nearly as bad.    It is a little smaller, so the speedo is off more than before.  That just means I'm automatically getting better mileage, right??   uglystupid2 Al

something about the rear tire on the front has been bothering me so i will ask it here,,,
everyone is putting the tire on in reverse rotation so that it rolls backwards so here is my problem,,
with the tire on backwards it seems to me that when you get into rain that the water will be forced into the center of the tire rather than being pushed out and away from it...in my mind this will cause a hydroplane quicker than a hic-up....

also they say do it because there is no force on the rotation,, but when you let off the gas does it not have reverse force against it then?

i might run a rear tire on the front but i will let it rotate the way its designed to,,,,

ok back to my regularly scheduled program,,,,

Never,...and I mean NEVER run a rear CT in the reverse direction in the front.
And never put a Dunlop 404 front tire on the rear!

Unless you want to die a flaming death,...now do you?
