I think if I was operating out of the size wallet you'd need to get a wing and I already had a couple of other mounts in the 100 ponies size, I'd have to go big and get a Boss Hoss.

I think it would be a hoot to have a bike with more horsepower than the other 3, combined.

Buy a Boss Hoss and you will find that no 2 bikes are alike.

If you think that little flat 6 is hot, you don't know what HOT is till ya ride a BH.

Joe, go for the Wing and I'll come down and pick up the Bad Boy, I think that is what ya call it.      The Blue/White solo bike.

Couple reason's I don't need this bike ( 1 ) Payments ( 2 ) I've got a 24 foot Striper boat in my garage, three motorcycle's a mini van , Dodge 4X4 and a 450 Foreman along with more junk than the law should allow....Packed to the max  Sad  The asking price is at the high end it would take $13,500 / $13,700 to get it....It ran on E-Bay and they turned down the $12,700 that was the highest bid.I've owned a Valkyrie since June of 1998 in the last two big rides I've attened ( Britman's Memorial Weekend and The Return To Hillbilly Highway ) two Valkyrie's broke-down with alternator and battery trouble....If anything could make me leave the Valkyrie for something else it would be the bike not getting me home  Sad   Today I'm ordering a new alternator to put on my highest mileage bike just for peace of mind.

Between Tracy and I we have 5 valkyries, one with 159,000, 2nd with 137,000, 3rd with 126,000, 4th with 115,000 and 5th with 73,000...all have the orginal alternaters...I keep them clean and replace the brushes around 75,000...I believe heat and dirt is the biggest enemy of this item....when you start putting on transmission covers and radiator screens the temp. goes up, so more maintence is required.....that doesn't mean an alternator can't go out early, after all its a piece of machinery and sh--t happens...me I never worry about these bikes getting me home, if it breaks down I'll deal with it.... Smiley...I have amp meters that tell me the condition of the charging system and if it stops charging, pull the fuses not needed for running and you can go another 200-300 miles on a fully charged battery. cooldude Keeping a good battery is helpful also, I replace the battery every couple of years, a weak battery will kill the alt. also .... Cheesy

Joe,  I might have missed it, but never mentioned year of the yellow wing.  I think unless 2007 on up and under 20K, 13,500 is too much.  I have my eye on a very clean, low mileage 16K, maroon red nicely equipped even with CB 2003 goldwing locally for $11700 asking price.  Only problem, unlike most of you guys who own 2-5 cycles,  is definitely NO room for another cycle.  My toys also are lots, although not worth much, 3 ATV's and 3 fishing boats (the nicer 17' footer is at my moms house since no room for that even at my house)  so I know feeling of NO room.  Heck, the misses wouldn't even let me buy a 1 year old like new 600 miles on it 150cc Kymco scooter worth 2 grand easily for 1500 bucks 3 months ago like I wanted to.  For 1500 bucks, I know I could sell it for that even 4 years from now with 3000 miles on it easily.  I could've even probably squeezed the tinier scooter in my 2 car garage with inches to spare?  I really need at least another 2-3 car garage to comfortably fit all inside but my 100'x110'  lot would have no grass left to mow - now that is a good idea?  Roll Eyes

I've drove up to this car dealers lot twice this morning only to turn around and leave. I know I don't need and really can't affort ( 4 ) bikes if the truth be known. Man this is a sweet low-mile ( 12,000 miles ) Wing and I've always loved this color on the Goldwing. Dude that own's it own's the car lot and is close to 80 years old so the bike is'nt hurt and when I talked to them on the phone the re-calls have been taken care of.Been on my mind all morning and I'm still working on talking myself out of going and getting it  Undecided  I've fished with one of the longtime salesman and can do " ALITTLE " better than the asking price.

Why Joe would you buy a bike that has a rewelded frame?

Just asking.

Bob let's just say " IF " you came to my house and rode one of my bikes away...Which one would it be ?

Have to be the Green/Silver I/S. Already have a Std and you'd probably put
several large bullet holes in anybody that tried to take your "tourinstater".
That's a good deal cause that's the only one I'd get rid of .... " IF " that day ever comes Bob it's yours  cooldude

The color on My Harley was made Only for 2 years Pacific Blue Pearl.. Don't pass myself ever, mine is a Frakenstien design of my own.

I've not heard what year Wing it is. The frame recall bikes were 01_02 models. Only  6 bikes were ever cracked and H replaced the whole bike for those folks. So Joe, if you're on the fence, I'd say go  for it. I've never regretted a moment I've had the Wing.

2002 with 12,000 old man miles on it  ...I know the price is alittle high but then again I've always loved that color...I'm still back and forth but leaning more so too passing on it as I stated I don't need the payments and don't want to get rid of my Fat Girl's to make room to park it in the garage.

1) I never ask for anyone else's opinion on what to spend my money on. The exception, my wife, except of the last one I bought, an 08 loaded Goldwing.
2) I never give an opinion on what someone else wants to buy. The exception, my son, because sometimes my money is included in what he wants to buy.
3) You already own three Valkyries, should you buy a Goldwing, one of those bikes, maybe two, is not going to be ridden. You may like the goldwing enough to skip riding the others. Exception, this is not an opinion.
If you feel serious enough, check the internet, an 01-04 doesn't command that kind of price. Before I bought mine, I found an 06 that I could have gotten for $12,500.00. It was basic, so I change my mind when I found a loaded 08 for $16k with 7800 miles. The 06 had 15k miles w/o heated seats or grips. I have seen 01-04 in the range of 9800-14k dollars.
P.S. I didn't get a yellow, but it sure was my first choice.

If you are riding  and it is a must that you keep your eyes on the road, you are riding too fast.

It's too bad you couldn't just trade for a few weeks, My guess is you would still want to ride those beautiful Valkyries you have, You are just bored and want something different, just pass on it you'll get over it! Smiley
Just my 2 cents

Good Luck with your decision!

It wasnt just 01 and 02's the 03.s had the same problem cracked frame, my brother in law was the first to have his break while going down the road, good thing he was going straight. He had to fight with honda for a while but got a new bike which they said was a good one, ended up it had to be welded also. I had a 03 and it is a differant bike than the valk, It.s faster and handles better, Wish I had know you wanted one joe I just sold a 03 with so many extras it took an hour to list them all, I sold it for $11000, it was black though.
