As if some of us needed a REAL reason to ride to work.
On a side note, we finally had the Taurus hauled off. It was a nice car for 11 years. Had over 145k on it. Now offically down to one car and one bike. Will be waiting until colder weather to find me a nice pick-up.

Oddly, I commute nearly every day to work on the bike and have for most of my working life. Unfortunately, I don't work in the summer so I don't ride as much in the summer. Oh well. I'd rather not work than participate. They could move this holiday to the fall then I would participate.

I had a good ride to work this morning. I'm playing a prison guard in a movie at Angola State Penitentiary. My 65 mile commute includes some really nice twisty back roads through a bunch of the most beautiful plantation homes in Louisiana and a ride up the Tunica Trace.
I had a nice conversation with rock legend Phil Driscoll. We talked about Valkyries, BMW 1600's and airplanes. The movie that we are shooting is about his life. He is the producer and the main actor in it. I also met Danny Glover today. That was just a quick handshake and a few pleasantries though.
On the ride home, I joined up with a sport bike for much of the way. A rain shower that came through a few hours earlier had cooled things off. Everything about the trip home was perfect. I can't wait to do it all over again tomorrow.

Rode to work although, I didn't know it was a designated day to do so. Don't really need a reason, when the fat lady calls, I come running. When I ask her, she's always ready. Riding to and from work becomes the highlight of my work day, if only I could figure out how to keep all those other folks off the road for just a few minutes while I enjoy the ride. I especially enjoy riding home after dark and early mornings, normally there are less folks out and about.
