Hey, Laser Pat!  Saw some Tucumcari pics with you and Texas Deb in them...I'm so full of envy!

Anyway,  I'm itching for a ride as well.  Planning to make a Kerrville ride next Sunday, the 7th, for a Veteren's group.  They're leaving from Oak Hill at around 10am.  Also, there's a ride out of San Marcos on the 13th for the Sunshine Kids.  They plan to meet in San Marcos and give some kids from the organization rides through Devil's Backbone.  Might be fun to have a couple of Valks there.  Maybe three if Old Geezer can find his way up from S.A. coolsmiley

FYI, thought I made a good deal on the Shadow 'till Dena started planning on how we were going to dress it out.  Paid cash for the bike, but may need a loan for the add ons! crazy2

Very cool.  I need to do the same for mine one of these days...

Wow, one week with a Valkyrie, and she's gone from the HD marketing line "Screw it, let's ride", to "WooOOOooHOOOooooo Let's ride!"
I think I like the Valkyrie version better.

Hey Old Greezer,
I have a friend that wants to sell her Shadow.
It's a 2001 with around 34,000. Runs great.
She wants $2,500 for it.
I has an after market windshield, saddle bags, and straigt pipes.
I could send you pics if you want.

After riding Dena's bike a bit, I have to admit that the Shadow sure is a nice ride.  Plenty of power, reasonably smooth (for a V-twin) and handles well.  The ride seems "softer" than the Valk, but feels solid enough to be in control.  Oh, and the last fill up clocked better than 50mpg! Shocked...I'm going to have to re-check that one... Roll Eyes

I have to agree, my friend is storing her bike in our garage.
She had a stress fracture in her hip (the friend not the bike) and the bike has been in storage for 6 months.
She had to move it. I had problems getting the seat off, but after that, charged the battery and she cranked right up.

I've been riding it to work seafoam through it, and it runs great. Plenty of power, and the straight pipes sound good. Sly has a V-Star, after riding the Shadow and getting use to it, she says the Shadow handles better than her bike.

What size engine does that bike have? Paula is really wanting to get her a new bike.

I've owned a 750 and an 1100 Shadow Spirit and both bikes were awesome.  The 750 was a little buzzy for sustained speeds over 70 MPH, my arms would go numb after an hour or two.  The 750 got approximately 55 MPG and the 1100 got around 45 MPG.  Our very own LemonDrop now owns my 1100 and rides it on most of our group riders.

I would happily own either bike again.

It's a 750.
Karen brought the bike a year ago from a dealer and has only rode it a couple of times.
She was stepping up from a 450 to this 750, but the bike is too tall for her and she dumped it an alley.
She is scared of it now.
