Got signed up couple days ago.  I guess I'll be stumbling around for a while.  I got 1999 Valkrie Interstate.  Love the crap out of it.  Had about 6 months.  Put about 5000 miles on it.  Riding to Florida in couple months.  I like the Dark Side.  Putting205/60/ R16,  V92  Speed rating.  Will I need to make those 2 mods? (fender nut clip removal & washer out fender) for clearance?   I've heard it  " yes" and "no."  Plan to use balancing beads for balance.   I haven't got it on my profile yet but I'm 72 feeling like 40 and live in Saginaw, Texas.  Looking foreward to meeting ya'll,  ging to some meetings and getting i some rides.   John Claypool Grin

both are simple to do while the tire is off. cheap to do so, why not. could save you time and trouble later.  a bolt head can cut through a sidewall very quick.  Smiley

Welcome you young and restless specimen!  Cheesy coolsmiley

On an I/S, I'll bid a cup of coffee that you'd need the nut cage mod.  There is another advantage to it tho.  ???
You'd be able to pull off the tail section of the fender by just removing the two rearmost bolts.  Wink

John, welcome aboard from another John. I have you by a couple years but know what you mean about the feelings when riding. Kinda blows the years away, just wish they would stay gone.  Wink  I agree with the other posts re. the nut cage mod...do it while the back half of the rear fender is off...or at least while the wheel is out. It's a simple process and if you don't do it before installing the car tire, due to lack of space you'll play heck doing it later with the bigger tire in there. Then just get some carriage type bolts to insert from inside the fender and use a couple locking nuts on the outside in place of a spacer. Get them long and cut to length after the bag mount it in place.  cooldude
