I picked up a .410 for Joanne to keep the snakes a bay. Cheap, $50 for a no mane single shot .410. I wanted to pic up some ammo for it on the way home so I stopped at Walmart against all my own rules. but there aren't a lot of places to buy ammo in Orlando, and I just happened to be driving by one on my way home from the Dr.
Well, I pissed around there for 45 minutes while they looked for some fictitious person that had "the key" for the ammo lock up. Never did find it, and I went home empty handed. The Manager said he was sorry, and I should come back tomorrow and he'd give me a discount. I said "the box of shells cost less than the cost of the fuel to come back here". Then I told him how many people on our club board have complained about Walmart's inability to get someone to sell ammo. I'll stop at a gun shop near the plant. In the long run I'll save money by spending more on ammo?

Oddly enough... I DID tell them I'd go to the hardware Dept and find a key. They said that Hardware didn't have the key. I said, I'll bet I can find one there.

The problem with the drill, bolt cutters and pills probably not one employee knows how to use them. Kind of sad. Reminds me of the checkout girl.

I dont know about youre Walmart.......but ours....if a complaint went to management the chances of THAT particular problem happening again would be rather small......its not hard to fire people at Walmart now that they are mostly part timers

They have bolt cutters in hardware...just sayin' or a drill in home improvement The bolt cutters/drill are probably too cheap to cut/drill the lock...They are from walmart, after all. Although, the lock is probably pretty cheap too, considering they bought it at walmart.

Nope. I found it odd that they would be so concerned about locking it up but so lax about where the keys were.

It's tough all over to find good help in a lot of stores, let alone Wallyworld. My 2 local grocery stores most of the time have ONLY 1-2 checkouts open is all usually. That means 5-6 people in line most of the time waiting in line for like 20-25 minutes just to get out of there with 6-15 items usually. I see a lot of people with 1-2 items just drop the items on the empty checkout line NOT open and leave. Even the local Walmart with about 20 checkouts have ONLY 2-3 checkouts open usually, go figure? Part of the problem is not too many people want to work for under 10 bucks nowadays along with mgmt. cutting back on workers and instead of hiring full time staff just part timers with no benefits and lack of pay expecting them to show up 'on call' status for the rest of their lives. Don't always blame the inferior workers at stores like Walmart since mgmt. and the economy is more to blame in my opinion. Even the office environment doing Accounting work now hires part time employees or long term temp work meaning NO benefits and usually less pay than hiring a full time employee with benefits. Face it, the economy and employers in charge sure has changed HUGELY in the past 20+ years since I was first employed out of college and DEFINITELY NOT for the better.

The local Walmarts here don't keep shotgun shells locked up. They're "self serve" on the shelf.

I think it is because the 410 is a handgun load..... and those are locked up. Usually 12 gauge is on the shelf as well even here in PA. Plus.... consider the 2 locations.

The Wal Mart here is not allowed to sell guns anymore, lost their FFL for letting a customer handle guns and ammo at the same time or some such thing. They still sell ammo but no more guns

That is strange, now that you mention it........at ours SOME shotgun shells are self serve but some are locked up. The ones I wanted last time were locked up.........never did ask why some were just sitting out.....could be its the volume size boxes, maybe they dont fit in the glass case

I'll bet there's an unemployed, qualified management type that, if hired, could resolve the problem. On the other hand, they probably wouldn't work there!

If we were closer, I'd be glad to give you a box of 410s..
A little Wal-mart story.. I would only buy oil there and the last time there I ended standing in line for some time.. When it was finally my turn the cashier gave me a dirty look and said she is closing and I'd have to go to another lane.. I told her just what she could do and where that store could go and just left everything there and left..

I was implying Jeff should handle the tools, from the looks of his tool boxes he's more then qualified
