Is it just me or does the saddleman drivers seat sit way lower than an OEM seat and other seats?  Seems anyone over 5'10" would have their knees way up high and cramped?

I have seen this bike for sale on different craigs list add from that area for the last 6 months i bet.   It was shown pictured in a dealership for a few months, and these pics make it look alot better than in that dim lighting.

I think it is a very pretty bike, and i like the red and white better than the red and black i currently have.   I think someone did a whole bunch of work to this, by the time they bought all those parts, they could have bought a nice interstate.

Question I have is IF it has never been down, why have the saddlebags been replaced with Tourer bags?

Just asking...

Um, I have to bring up the obvious...

He lists it as a GL1500 CF, indicating it's an Interstate.
It can't be a '97 and a GL1500 CF.

I'm questioning the "Never been Dropped."  why do the front turn signals not match the rear. The fronts are the newer single screw ones. Plus I didn't see the switch blocks on the handle bars.  If it is a built '97 "I/s"  it looks pretty good.

just so the rest of you know, the I/S was only made 99-01. so it is obviously a home built. if i remember right there is a write up around here by the owner/builder of this bike.

The front signals match the fairing, the rears are accurate for '97.  I do wonder how the stereo is controlled though.

I've always liked the Red & Whites.  Those colors look real nice on an I/S.   Cool

I'm wondering if the radio works, or is even there.  With all the work done so far, wouldn't take much to add the radio.

Still, a great price.

The tank insignia is NOT a 97, thought those came out in 2000..I do like the colors but don't think the lines look right on the pods or the trunk..but that's just me..I'd give him 800 for it in a minute, hehe.

Definitely a pieced together bike.... and although it looks nicely done, where are those controls for the radio (if it is even there).

And I agree that it has Tourer bags (noticeable seam), but the lids should be like Interstate lids to work properly.

saddlebag lids are the same but tourer has a hinge where the i/s has a catch that can separate.

The hinges swap as Joe said so that wouldn't be hard to do.

But I wanted to do that to my RED and WHITE 97 Tourer.
I bet the speedo works, at least who ever built it up connected it to the sending unit on the front wheel, 97's didn't come that way.
The guy that listed it (Groundpounder) more than likely did nothing but wash it, I clicked on the CL pics and noticed he sells a lot of tires (and another Valk too on page 4).

I don't think he's running a scam.  Someone obviously started with a '97 Red and White and added Interstate trunk, pods, fairing, and saddle. I don't see the controls or evidence of the radio, so it appears the transition has not been completed.

He is incorrect in referring to it as a GL1500CF.  I'm sure the title doesn't reflect that unless he also replaced the frame and then, of course, it wouldn't say it's a '97.

It truly isn't a '97 Interstate, but for someone who wants a one-of-a-kind Valkyrie it could be a good deal.   cooldude
