I was in the garage (my happy place) and I had an idea.  I was looking at my old mountian bike in the rafters and I decided to borrow some parts from it for the Mothership.  Here's what I came up with.

Hmm...

It clears!

So, yeah.  That's what I accomplished today. uglystupid2

They work great, had one on my handlebars in front of the clutch m/c for years. Used them on most of the previous rides going back another 40 yrs. at least. I found they're a little large for most bottles of water you get at the store, putting them in a cozy helps though. Nice installation you have there.  cooldude

Those look great! Plenty of clearance to the tank at full lock? cooldude

Here in Az., this time of year when I put a frozen bottle in the holster, it's 100+ degrees before I can finish it! crazy2

Thanks!  This is what I can do when I'm not hopped up.  Began life as a 1974 CB750.  I built it in 3 weeks.

Well, thanks guys!  I initally thought I wasted my time on a goofy mod, but if y'all like it I might leave it there for a while and see how it goes.  The bottles clear the tank just fine and they may come in handy as I have a lot of miles to cover this summer.

I have done the same but used the farthest nut to the left on the windshield, it works. One problem I have found is that if you use the predrilled hole it will vibrate and brake off. So I drilled a new hole
in the mian piece to give it a solid mount against the windshield crome piece the flat one on the windshield.
